About this tour
The only Maya city built on a cliff above the Caribbean
Most ruins ask you to imagine the view. Tulum hands it to you: a walled port city and bone-white temples on a forty-foot cliff over water so bright it looks edited. The Maya called it ZamΓ‘ β "dawn" β because from here they watched the sun rise out of the sea.
What makes it truly private
Your vehicle and driver stay with you the full 8 hours β no meeting point, no headcount, no strangers on board. You leave when you want, linger where you love it, and change the plan at 11 a.m. without asking anyone.
- Door to door β hotel, private residence or Airbnb, and back to the same door.
- Cold drinks and snacks on board β a stocked cooler, included at no extra cost.
- Air-conditioned Toyota HiAce; Suburban Deluxe upgrade for groups of 1β6.
- Bilingual driver in uniform, English and Spanish.
Inside the walled city
El Castillo, the cliff-edge temple that doubled as a lighthouse; the Temple of the Frescoes with its blue-green murals; the Descending God found almost nowhere else; the five-metre great wall; Playa Ruinas, the postcard cove below the temples; and the famous resident iguanas. Newly renovated, the entrance ticket now includes a free museum and a new electric shuttle train to the ruins.
Then the day is yours
The ruins take 90 minutes to two hours β and you still have a vehicle waiting. Under Available add-ons you can build the rest: swim in a cenote, eat where Tulum eats, snorkel with sea turtles in Akumal, or hit the beach. Prefer it simple? Book transportation only β it's a complete product on its own.
